“In order to get the best outcome, you have to connect to the “many yous” inside your organization or team.”
Facilitation
When there is space for real understanding of what individual voices are thinking and feeling, it’s possible to develop the threads of commitment and energy that lead to exceptional outcomes.
Facilitation helps clients dig under the top layer of what’s ‘obvious’ and into what’s actually shaping their experience.
A good dance can’t get made with dancers who are disconnected from the work. It’s the same with an organization. Whether it’s fear of trying something new, not trusting the choices being made, or simply feeling in some way shut out of processes or decisions, getting confirmation that colleagues have listened and understood a longstanding issue can transform defensive or disengaged attitudes. Facilitation jumpstarts positive change.
“I appreciate her ability to be a creative partner, offering solid ideas and valuable insights backed up with practical support, candid evaluations, and the ability to keep the work on track and improving until we get to what is needed.”
Short Case Studies
Consumer Affairs Agency (Germany)
PROBLEM: Mid-level managers were burnt out and disengaged.
DESIRED OUTCOME: To create a safe space to ignite creative freedom and re-inspire manager engagement into the organization’s success.
SOLUTION: A weeklong creativity enhancement seminar with self-selected participants that included small daily ‘disruption’ activities like changing the angle of their desk or setting a timer to look out the window as well as guided writing exercises. They practiced, self-observation and documenting of automatic choices like where they crossed the street on leaving the office and observed and replicated each other walking and standing. Facilitated group discussions evaluated the impact of the activities, tracked the overall process throughout the week and gave everyone the opportunity to share what they observed in each other.
